I shopped for a while before finding this bag. Being left-handed, I ordered both shoulders knowing that I would return one. It's first test was a recent 3-week trip to Egypt in which it excelled on the day-to-day (especially in Cairo) when I did not need a larger daypack for our excursions.
While it is very true that when carrying a water bottle, you are very limited on capacity; I never used it for a tablet, but it would still get tight with a water bottle and a sunglass case in addition to your basic small essentials. The biggest bonus what that it unexpectedly would securely fit and carry a 1.5L bottle of water if you use the cordage correctly around the neck of the bottle. Additionally, the luggage handle pass-through makes it the perfect personal item in addition to a carryon-sized suitcase.

It looks good, several compartments to store but when it gets a little bit heavy? It just can’t handle the weight andyhe strap keeps loosen up. Overall it is an overpriced sling back. Going to return it.
Also beware of the return policy. It is not free return.

Got it this when Amazon had a promotion for an additional free item with the purchase. The styling is great and having a water bottle pocket is awesome. The "Mag" in the MagLock buckle seems like it doesn't refer to magnets since there is none. I like how the buckle swivels though. It makes the strap more ergonomic where it allows the strap to more smoothly change direction to go around your waist.
However, the bag is rather large. Plus it has less than 10L of actual usable capacity (maybe if it's filled with beans, it'd equal 10L but I don't carry around beans...). With such a large gap between its physical size and capacity, I'll probably return the bag. At this size and weight, I'd rather go with a small backpack. There are 12L backpacks that're about the same size.
I hope Alpaka's next backpack style sling keeps the bottle pocket and improves on the size vs. capacity efficiency.
I wish they get rid of the quick access card holder even if to just save some grams of weight. I would not trust putting something important in there like a credit or metro card.

I got this from Amazon but I'm returning it. The sling is about the same physical size as my other 11L - 12L bags but this bag holds less.
There's some space in the main compartment at the top where the shoulder strap is. This space isn't very usable. It probably accounts for 1L or 2L of space. For the large physical size of the sling, the actual usable capacity is pretty low.
This is too bad. I like the look and the water bottle pocket. Hopefully the next version is more efficient in terms of size vs. capacity.
