Metro Crossbody – Left Shoulder

This has become my go-to bag whenever a backpack is too much, and a sling would be too little. It’s a well-designed bag which feels built to last, which good quality materials, zippers and stitching.

I appreciate the sliding design, keeping the weight on your back when you don’t need to use the pack, and making it easy to access the pack when you do. I also appreciate the included stabilising strap, which I don’t need to use often but would be handy when hiking.

The bottle holder bottle is a great addition, and it holds my ~750mL insulated water bottles just fine. It does cut into the main compartment when using a bottle, but I understand it’s a necessary design choice to keep the bag low profile. It’s good too know however that if you don’t need to use a bottle, then you can zip up the pocket and make use of all the space in the main compartment.

The bag features many useful and appropriately placed compartments. Honestly, it’s a really great bag, and it is almost perfect for me (I got the olive green XPac version and I love it), but there are two drawbacks for me personally. First, I wish the mod tether strap in the smaller front compartment was detachable. It probably would have been easy to sew a loop in and make the strap removable, but I suppose sewing the strap permanently in the bag encourages buying into the mod tether ecosystem because it’s there, so why not try it? And in fairness, it does make the strap more streamline. Still though, I would have preferred…
