I appreciate the pockets for both a medium size water bottle, which was a priority to me, and also for an umbrella.
The size forces me not to carry too much in this bag :) Theres just enough space for my Canon G7, lense, my iPad mini, 2 cables, a charger, my passport, a few pens, and a universal plug adapter.
While it will be tight, I was also able to fit my 13 inch Macbook. Outside my electronics, it can fit a pair of shoes or my Chacos, a pair of swim shorts and a towel.
I initially looked into their “briefcase” but the wide base on this allows it to “stand”.
Great addition to my Alpaka gears.
When buying directly from Alpaka’s site, plan on at least 2 weeks before your purchased item arrives to you. I learned that the hard way when I needed something for a trip I needed to go to that same week. This is my 5th Alpaka item due to the quality build and affordable price when compared to other similar brands. Thank you!!!

I'm a huge Alpaka fan. When you're going to carry something all the time, it becomes an extension of you. That's why I have chosen Alpaka for my slings, backpacks, pouches, and even my hat. The materials, design philosophy, and organization hits all the right spots. Something to know about me, I really don't like Alpaka's Bravo line. Everything I have purchased from the Bravo line has just gone back to the factory. I don't like the feminine look of the line (it's just not for me) and somehow all the bags and slings seem a little cheaper to me... I have been primarily attracted to the Elements, Metro, and Go lines of products. When I saw that Alpaka was debuting the Flight Satchel, I got excited. I love my Flight Sling and kinda dig the Flight Pouch - so I was excited for this bag and immediately ordered it on day 1. Well, it just came in and I rocked it last night and this morning. I have a lot of thoughts about the bag, so I thought I'd write a review to get my thoughts out.
Firstly, I really like the size of the bag. I can fit my Galaxy Tab S9 with case, books, notebooks, my Ayaneo Pocket DMG, GPD Win Mini, an Anker Battery Bank, Keys, Bose QC Ultras, Ekster wallet, Sunglasses, disinfectant wipes, lotion, chewing gum, umbrella, and more. Unfortunately it can't carry my laptop since it's a 16inch Macbook Pro. Even though it can't carry my laptop, I kinda like that it can't. I was looking at this for the style, and to finally break away from my old Timbuk2 Classic Messenger Bag from 2016 - note I will compare a lot to that because it is also 11 Litres
- the space inside is lesser than the Timbuk2. Even the WIDTH is like half of what that was. It honestly feels more like a 10L bag. More width could've been better for slightly more storage + also not eating up the front zipper compartment space. Moreover, the Timbuk2, being a messenger bag, lets you overload it if you wanna thanks to the flap.
- laptop compartment is where i have the most beef with - why is it designed to just handle 13 inch laptop that are ONLY MACBOOK AIR?? I am using a 13 inch Thinkpad X1 Carbon as a personal laptop, and 14 inch Thinkpad T14 for work. The Timbuk2 messenger, while rated only to carry 13 inch laptops, can STILL carry that chonkadonk T14 laptop in the laptop compartment. Meanwhile, This bag has such a tiny opening that I can't even slot my Thinkpad carbon - much less can't even fitting into the compartment. I really wished Alpaka designed a compartment that isn't just for macbooks cuz not everyone uses that.
- Strap - my goodness WHY IS IT SO LONG? which giraffe is gonna wear the strap. Adjusting it to the length I wanted was a painful chore. I ain't asking it to be designed like how Timbuk2 did with their cam buckle design but COME ON. The buckle on the strap slips too easily while the ends are a CHORE to move the strap length around to balance out the length…

I have many Alpaka bags: small, big: pouches, slings, and packs. The Flight Satchel is best small bag so far. Hangs on body well with plenty of space and access. Specialized pocketing for everything I'll need for a quick carry. Elegant enough to wear out on the town. Thanks!

I have been looking for a bag like this for quite some time. It’s perfect for my EDC. I carry my laptop, AirPods Max, Nintendo Switch 2, and a few other items with plenty of room to spare. The build quality is great as always. I definitely recommend this bag.
