Here at ALPAKA we have prioritized not only being a cohesive brand, but also making sure that we are a conscientious and thoughtful one, with both eyes turned towards the future. Because of this, sustainability and an environmentally ethical business model have always been top priorities for us. We strongly believe that the days of using business solely for profit are long gone, and we are listening to consumers globally, asking that their favorite brands do their part in helping Mother Nature. So, think of this as our plan, our promise, and our pledge to you and to generations to come for a brighter future that we and the planet may all enjoy.
Every year we will be donating 1% of all profits to non-governmental organisations that have dedicated their time and resources to helping protect the environment, as well as fighting for environmental causes.
Planting Trees for Every Bag Sold
We see planting trees as one of the best things we personally can do to try and offset the growing amount of CO2 emissions, as well as helping to regrow and bring life back to animal habitats. This is why we have partnered with our friends at Tree-Nation, to support their forestry efforts, and help make sure ALPAKA stays a sustainable brand.
How it works is that for every purchase valued at $79+ on our store, a tree gets planted. It’s as simple as that. We understand that as a business, as any business should, we must acknowledge and take responsibility for our own carbon footprint. Our end goal is always to do our business in the best way possible and to us, this partnership with Tree-Nation was the perfect way to do our part for the environment, whilst including our consumers in the process too. The best way forward in protecting the environment, is together.
Eden Projects, Madagascar and Bore, Kenya
In response to the large-scale loss of mangroves and upland forests in Madagascar, Eden Reforestation Projects initiated the Madagascar Reforestation Project. The program began in 2007 and since its inception Eden has successfully planted over 16 million mangrove and dry deciduous trees in northwest Madagascar. In Bore, Kenya, the project is a unique community forestry initiative that aims to help the people of Bore in Kenya’s Coastal Province find sustainable ways to conserve their existing tropical forest. Read on to see how you can help contribute towards this amazing cause.
We'll be announcing a new partnership that will allows us to plant trees in California soon.
How You Can Help
So, you have just purchased a beautiful ALPAKA product, fantastic! Shortly after placing your order you will first receive a confirmation email from us about your order, with a receipt of your purchase. You will then also receive a separate email with the title ‘ALPAKA offered you a tree on Tree-Nation.' For every purchased item at our store (over $79USD), we will plant 1 tree (example: 5 bags = 5 trees). If you do not see it in your inbox, please check under promotions or your spam inbox.
You can leave us a message, read about the species of tree you planted, its CO2 offset and what planting project you contributed to. You will have just officially contributed to this amazing conservation project in Madagascar from the comfort of your very own home. From your one newly planted tree over 40kgs of CO2 will be offset while in Kenya, your tree will offset 70kgs of CO2. How cool is that!
