This is my 3rd Alpaka purchase, (Elements Backpack Pro in X-Pac and Elements Travel Backpack in X-Pac - both get an enthusiastic 5 stars!), however the Traverse Backpack is having issues holding its form. I love the size, materials and build quality but even when fully packed out, the bottom has an odd crease that does not go away. I even tried to pad it out with a hat/gloves and umbrella but it is persistent. It is not a deal breaker but a disappointment considering my experience with the prior 2 bags. In addition the side handle does not lay flat and can catch on doors and random items while commuting. The top handle, while very functional, could be slightly larger as too could be the top pocket. It struggles to contain a badge, key fob and earbuds. I still love Alpaka products but might have to consider going back to the other bags in my collection.

I purchased this bag as a day pack for work. Occasionally I have to fly to broke aircraft and assist in fixing. This bag perfectly fits the second and third days clothes, my iPad, some flashlights and batteries and my toiletries. The hidden passport pocket makes it easy to hide the important documents when traveling internationally. It’s easy to go down a rabbit hole when trying to buy a travel bag and many bags are well made and have great features, but I always return to ALPAKA for their materials, quality and comfort.
