You have a pouch on the strap and more convenient to access but alternatively you can use your pant pockets.

While I love the HUB Ecosystem and use it extensively, if you're hanging these externally, take note that the rubber holding the Airpods Case in place is a bit too weak to hold it if you're going at speed.
Sometimes while sprinting to catch the bus, the airpods case falls out the pouch.
You can remediate it by having a small casing for the Airpods Case itself to make it slightly thicker and preventy it from slipping out as easily.
