I bought the modular sling v2 (army green) as a pocket reliever, meaning to relieve my pants pocket from everyday stuff like car remote fob, house key, door access card, phone and wallet. Pretty simple everyday stuff when we leave the house, really. So did the modular sling v2 live up to the task? Well, it did except it left me yearning for a little bit more space.
The front quick access phone pocket is what really sold me to get this sling pouch. I have always disliked having to fumble and unzip pockets just to access my phone, which I access many times a day. So no zippers, hate it. Thus the magnetic clasp in the phone pocket in front, works great. Just a little pull, and the lid flap opens. But I do have some observation to share about it, though. Firstly, The phone pocket seem a little too tight. I have a pretty small phone without a case, the Samsung S24 (not pro, not ultra). And even with this tiny phone, I felt that the pocket is designed to be too snug. Sliding the phone into the pocket, or taking it out requires effort, which shouldn't have been the case if this pocket was indeed designed for larger phones up to the S25 Ultra (as advertised for V2). Perhaps more use would loosen the pocket up? Only time will tell. So for those of your who owns large phones, or have thick fat phone cases, please take note. Secondly, the flap lid doesn't stretch. It is made from very rigid material (as in used elsewhere on this sling v2) so if I dont push my phone all the way down…
