Well built, but unfortunately will not meet my needs.
As a returning customer, I had high hopes for the zip card pouch. Unfortunately, while well built, the product description missed a critical design feature that prevents this from meeting my needs - the case has a rigid insert sewn into the sides and it lacks the zipper pull found on other zip pouches.
My first Alpaka purchase was a zip pouch that I used to carry my CGM reader. The front pocket held an airtag to keep me from forgetting the reader when I left the house. When Alpaka introduced the zip pouch pro, I grabbed one of those and consolidated my CGM with my front pocket wallet for a simple all in one. By removing the stitching that separates the pen and knife slots on the zip card pro, I have a zippered wallet with a pocket large enough to hold my CGM reader. My only complaint was occasionally having to remove the CGM reader so I could access cards and cash in the large zippered pocket.
When I saw the zip card pouch on Alpaka's website I though this might be the perfect fix for that problem. The perimeter zipper would allow better access to cash and cards; the side pocket would hold my CGM reader without modification. The rigid insert sewn into the sides of the zip card pouch prevents the CGM reader from fitting.
Ultimately I'll hold onto this as I'm sure I can find a use for it down the road - it just won't be taking center stage as my daily carry.
