Nice upgrade
I felt the straps on some of my alpaka bags would benefit from something more substantial. This strap is perfect. It’s wider and more robust. The magnetic lock is also a nice added touch.

Mag vs Fid.
It’s everything you would expect. I got the Fidlok version which works well however I expect the Maglockz version if you intend to use the stabilizer strap may be a better choice? The fidlock attaches very quickly; almost effortlessly but detaching it a bit more finicky. Pulling the draw string often times lifts the strap and then it doesn’t want to break loose. So you kind of half to pull the strap down and then lift the draw string gently. The maglockz version appears to be identical to the one used on the stabilizer strap so if you’re a little OCD and want them to match this is your best option. It can take a very short amount more time to get it to lock up but detaching it feels better imo. Less finnicky Also just the way you detach it feels more stable once it breaks free. Idk you’d have to use them both to notice the difference. Mag is a slide on magnet, Fid is a clip magnet with tension properties.

I upgraded the strap to my Vertical Sling with this strap and I love it. It's much thicker and stronger and the magnetic functionality works great. Definitely worth the upgrade over the standard or stock strap that comes with the vertical sling. If you are a petite female or guy you may prefer the standard strap however for me the thicker wider strap was the way to go. Made of seat belt like material and about 3/4 as thick as a standard seat belt for reference.
