Our Journey to Sustainability: Going Leather-Free and Using Eco-conscious Materials

At ALPAKA, we’re not just about style but also about making a positive impact on our planet. We’re proudly leather-free as leather production can be extremely harmful to the environment, from deforestation to water pollution, and the obvious one: animal cruelty. 

And, we’re not just stopping there. From manufacturing to shipping, every aspect of ALPAKA's operations is carefully considered for its environmental impact. That's why we use a combination of recycled packaging and biodegradable polymers for our packaging. And guess what? We're even working on a fully biodegradable solution for both external and internal packaging. It'll be fully optimized for our shipping needs next year. Stay tuned!

Giving New Life To Waste

We also understand the importance of giving materials a second life. That's why we incorporate recycled materials such as plastic PET bottles, weaved to become our Axoflux™ fabric to help combat the ever-growing problem of plastic and textile waste.

We also craft most of our products using climate-neutral X-Pac® fabrics which are known for their weatherproof durability. 

Recently, in light of a more circular economy, we’ve partnered with Recurate, a full-service resale platform to launch RE:CARRY, a marketplace where ALPAKA’s customers can sell their pre-loved items. No bags go to waste even the damaged ones, as we’ve also engaged with Recurate’s partner Loop Returns, a post-purchase platform that enables us to transform returns into exchanges by routing any damaged ALPAKA items to be inspected, photographed, and uploaded onto the RE:CARRY marketplace.
