Our Commitment to Sustainability: Introducing Axoflux®️, a Revolutionary Fabric in the Recycling Journey
In today's world, sustainability is no longer a choice but a necessity. We as consumers are becoming more conscious of our environmental impact. Even before the first ALPAKA bag was designed, we at ALPAKA prioritized how we can do our part in sustainability. Hence, our relentless pursuit has led us to creating our own innovative fabric, Axoflux®️. Not only does this 100% recycled fabric possess outstanding quality and performance, but it also plays a pivotal role in ALPAKA's newly established end-to-end recycling system.
Here’s a deep dive on how the Axoflux®️ fabric came about, from bottle collection to bag manufacturing.
Axoflux®️: The Cornerstone in Sustainability
The creation of Axoflux®️ fabric is one of the biggest milestones in our sustainability journey. It’s a testament of our commitment in reducing waste and utilizing resources efficiently. We collaborated with a recycled fabric manufacturer, leveraging their expertise in producing recycled fabrics to engineer the Axoflux®️ fabric.

The recycling journey begins with the collection of plastic bottles. We partnered with local recycling initiatives and waste management organizations to ensure the efficient retrieval of plastic bottles. These bottles are carefully sorted and cleaned to prepare them for the next stage of the recycling process.
Yarn Production
Once collected, the plastic bottles are crushed, melted, and extruded into filament yarns. The recycled fabric manufacturer’s recycling system ensures that this process is conducted with minimal energy consumption and emissions, reducing the environmental impact associated with traditional fabric production.
Fabric Production
The filament POLY600D fiber yarns are then spun into high-quality, hardwearing 600 denier polyester aka Axoflux®️, a durable and waterproof fabric that’s ready for the elements. ALPAKA's partnership with the recycled fabric manufacturer ensures that the fabric's production adheres to stringent environmental standards. Through continuous research and development, we strive to improve the efficiency of this stage while maintaining the fabric's exceptional durability and aesthetics.
Bag Manufacturing
With the new Axoflux®️ fabric in hand, we began crafting our functionally refined bags and products for your mobile lifestyle. Our first product to be constructed in the Axoflux®️ fabric is the Bravo Waist Pack.

End-to-End Recycling System
At ALPAKA, our commitment to sustainability extends beyond the creation of the Axoflux®️ fabric. By utilizing our own end-to-end recycling system, we ensure that our hard-wearing products are not only aesthetically pleasing but also environmentally responsible.
From the bottle collection stage to bag manufacturing, every step we take is with utmost care for the environment. Beyond that, for every purchase, 1% will go to environmental non-profits that we support such as One Tree Planted and the Surfrider Foundation. Who said sustainability and style can’t go hand in hand?
